SIMULACRA IN PARACULTURE AND THE RISE OF THE SLEESTANUNNAKI!

Whilst perusing an article entitled Ancient Aliens in Iraq - Stone Figurines and Carvings of the Anunnaki on the 'Message To Eagle' website, one of the images presented gave me pause. The article begins:

This time our quest for traces of prehistoric alien visitations takes us to Iraq where we come across many stone figurines and carvings of the Anunnaki - "those who from heaven to earth came". The National Museum of Iraq in Baghdad contains remarkable artifacts that offer proof of ancient aliens. Some of these artifacts are more than 10,000 years old. The museum's huge collection tells the epic story of human civilization, from the earliest settlements to the rise and fall of vast empires. This is also the place where we encounter a number of stone figurines and carvings depicting otherworldly beings. Below you can see a strange looking figure with very big round eyes, odd arms, no lips and a weird elongated body. It has been dated to 4000 - 6,000 BC.

Personally, the first thing that came to mind upon seeing this intriguing bas-relief was the Sleestak, those terrifying bipedal reptilians that served as the primary antagonists for the Marshall family in the 1974 cult classic Saturday morning kid's TV show, "Land of the Lost".

IS COAST TO COAST A.M. A "CULT" OF NATIONAL SECURITY TROLLS?

In this rigorous, definitive and ongoing survey of the guests who have appeared on the overnight AM radio ratings juggernaut Coast to Coast AM conducted by parapolitical researcher Joël van der Reijden, a rather convincing argument is made that...

...the CIA, NSA and Pentagon, whose leaders are all part of a civilian establishment, have created a complete "alternative" community consisting of news websites, forums, skeptical groups, radical activists and authors, as well as a vast stream of trolls in the form of forum, website and Youtube video posters that target anyone in favor of a sensitive conspiracy with a blitzkrieg of skepticism or extreme irrationality. The nexus in the "believers" category is Coast to Coast AM, followed by the closely-allied Alex Jones.

The entire WikiSpooks site is well worth bookmarking. I think that anyone interested in seeing honest scholarship and civilized discourse return to our money and ratings-hungry world of parapolitical investigation  should read this particular page in its entirety.

As the graphic reproduced bellow begins to illustrate, there exists a rather large nexus of well-connected power brokers who have a veritable army of "useful idiots", heartless shills, and willing dupes ready to help spread mis-and-disinformation in exchange for a purse full of silver... or, in some cases, nothing more than a paternalistic pat on the head. This alone is reason enough to be wary of anything you learn via the new so-called "counterestablishment" or "alternative" sources - what I call "conspiritainment" - which, their vociferous protests to the contrary notwithstanding, is where you'll find the woolliest "sheeple" of them all these days.

CLASSIC CONSPIRACY CINEMA: "I COMME ICARE" (1973)

What if a powerful head of state was murdered by a shadowy faction within his own government? And his assassination was blamed on a lone nut assassin? What if this patsy was to die in prison before coming to trial? And what if a white-wash commission was set up to investigate the whole sorry mess? And what if that commission was mostly made up of former opponents of the murdered head of state? And what if there was one exception to this, and what if this one honest man refused to sign on, choosing instead to conduct a potentially deadly dangerous investigation of his own?

This wonderful, little known (outside of the English speaking world) gem of paranoid 70's conspiracy cinema is very much worth watching, even if you don't understand French (the language in which it was filmed) or Spanish (the subtitles). For one thing, Stanley Kubrick's visual stamp isn't all over it... and y'all know how much I love me some Kubrick! I especially love the loosely fictionalized vision of the United States created for this film... it's vision of a totally compromised, unanswerable, purely symbolic, figurehead type of government order is so close to the way things have turned out, it's actually kind of scary. 

CULT MOVIE PROPHECY OF DOOM COMES TRUE

American International Pictures (AIP) was legendary for churning out an endless stream of product for the nation's movie theater and drive-in screens. They made them fast, and they made them cheap, and most of the time, it was easy to tell. However, hidden among the rock and roll beach romps and teenage werewolves, aliens and cavemen, one occasionally finds the odd shining gem. 1968’s Generation Gap “youthsploitation” satire Wild in the Streets is one such gem.

Wild in the Streets is the story of rock and roll singer Max Frost, whose massive popularity allows him to become both a political force and a messiah of the “youth liberation” movement. After folk singer Phil Ochs turned down the role, producers went with James Dean look-and-sound-alike Christopher Jones.

Max first gets political by backing the Senatorial ambitions of Johnny Fergus, a Kennedy clone, played by Hal Holbrook. Fergus supports lowering the age of suffrage from the then-current 21 to 18.

At a rally for Fergus, Frost electrifies the audience by advocating a voting age of 14 and debuting the rabble-rousing protest song “Fourteen or FIGHT!”

The masses take this message to heart and after some back-and-forth between the political establishment and Max’s band and brain-trust, everyone agrees to the less controversial platform and slogan: “Fifteen and Ready.”

Fergus is swept into office on the youth vote. Max’s gang then use the only member of their entourage old enough to run for office – blissed-out former child star and acid casualty Sally LeRoy – as their puppet in Congress. They succeed in amending the Constitution to allow Max to run for the Presidency, which he does on the Republican ticket. Thanks to a wave of public anger over a police massacre of young demonstrators--a truly chilling cinematic premonition of the Kent State Massacre, which was still two years away at the time--Max gets elected and almost immediately assumes dictatorial powers

Wild in the Streets is a remarkable film on a number of counts, over and above its tremendous commercial success. Though decades of hindsight render its satirical ambitions all too obvious, it was taken as a dead serious Orwellian warning upon its release. This is most likely because Wild in the Streets is, at its core, a deeply conservative film. In fact, upon close inspection, its politics are damn near reactionary.

AN ESOTERIC OVERVIEW OF "DIE YOUNG" BY KE$HA

First things first. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If Jay-Z, Madonna, Niki Minaj and Ke$ha are part of the Illuminati, then we have nothing to fucking fear from the Illuminati.

However, that said, I know that many people who are interested in parapolitics, the occult and conspiracy topics are intrigued by the role played by esoteric symbols, themes and archetypes in popular culture. Also, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by the topic as well. Therefore, I've decided to begin devoting some of this blog space to exploring how these potent ancient communication technologies are being used in everything from film and television to music (and music videos), highbrow literature and comic books, advertising, architecture... every aspect of our mass culture.

For my first foray into this field, I will be breaking down the currently somewhat controversial music video for the song Die Young by popular hip-hop crossover artist and party-girl singer/songwriter extraordinaire, Ke$ha.

I, PET GOAT II

This gorgeous animated short by a group of Montreal artists calling themselves Heliofant has inspired a ton of ridiculous, piss-poor analysis by the usual Xian, Illuminati-phobic suspects all over the Interwebs. This incredible piece of work (and I mean that on every level of the word) merits every second of the seven minutes of your undivided attention that it demands. You may watch it here, of course, but I recommend you download it from the source, at the creators' website.
