On this day in 2002, UN Security Council Resolution 1441 – The United Nations Security Council unanimously approves a resolution on Iraq, forcing Saddam Hussein to disarm or face "serious consequences". The brutal irony being, of course, that Iraq had already disarmed, and that the US was going to invade no matter what... the bully only beating up his victim once he'd tied both the victim's hands behind his back.
